Reports
Reports are document-style pages that combine your metrics with narrative. Integrators and Admins build them and share them with teams. Everyone else opens the reports shared with them.
What a report is
A report is a document made of blocks, laid out in rows. Each row has 1 to 4 columns, and each column holds one block.
| Block | What it shows | Where its content comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Chart | A chart of a metric. | A saved metric. |
| Big number | A single KPI. | A saved metric. |
| Table | The metric's results as a table. | A saved metric. |
| Pivot table | The metric's data cross-tabbed by dimensions. | A saved metric. |
| Insight | An AI analysis of another block. | A chart, big number, table or pivot block in the same report. |
| Heading and text | Your own narrative. | What you type. |
| Divider | A line between parts of the report. | Nothing. |
Chart, big number, table and pivot blocks always show a saved metric. See Metrics.
You find Reports in the Analytics section of the sidebar. Reports open in their own workspace, with its own sidebar. Select Back to app to return to Home.
Reports need connected data. If your organization has no connector yet, the page shows Connect your data to build reports and a Connect a data source button. See Connectors.
Deleting a report removes the report and its layout. The metrics on it stay in Metrics.
Library and My Favorites
The Reports page has two trees of folders, in the left rail:
| Tree | Who sees it | Who organizes it |
|---|---|---|
| Library | Everyone in the organization, limited to the reports each person can see. | Integrators and Admins. |
| My Favorites | Only you. | You. |
The page opens at the top of the Library.
The heart on a report adds it to My Favorites. It never changes the Library. The folder button, Move in Library, places a report in a Library folder. Only Integrators and Admins have it. Moving reports or deleting folders in the Library never changes anyone's favorites.
See Find & view reports and Organize the Library.
Drafts and published reports
Every report has a status, shown as a badge in the report's top bar:
| Status | Badge | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Draft | Integrators and Admins only. |
| Published | Published | Integrators and Admins, plus the members of the teams and Common Spaces it's shared with. |
A new report starts as a draft. When you publish it again after a change, the button reads Republish.
Changing the title, a block, a section or the layout moves a published report back to draft. Changing the description or the report's filters doesn't. Members lose access until you publish again. The report's shares are kept, so republishing gives members access again.
Who can see a report
| Role | What you see | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Admin, Integrator | Every report in the organization, draft or published. | Create, edit, publish, share, organize the Library and delete. |
| Member | Published reports shared with your active team, or with a Common Space your active team belongs to. | View, refresh blocks, add to My Favorites and pin to Home. |
As a member, you see reports through one active team at a time. If you aren't in any team, no reports are shared with you. A report you can't see shows Report not found.
Only Integrators and Admins can create reports. See Roles at a glance and Teams & Common Spaces.
